  • The Event that Caused the Most Damage to Humanity?

(wars, inventions, revolutions etc also count)

I'd say that the destruction of the Great Library in Alexandria is a worthy candidate...

The fall of Rome sent humanity back by 500 years.

the 30-year war - wiped out half of the European population - we may be a lot further advanced if it hadn't happened

Sadly, that's just the tip of the iceberg.

Really? I never knew it was that bad.

Speaking about lots of deaths, the Black Plague also deserves a mention.

I believe that every action in some small way effects every other action/thing in existance.......and no this isnt some new age kinda belief, its the "you read this, which changes how you act slightly, which changes other things etc.....you drop a rock in a pond, each ripple makes another riffle, and another, till the whole pong is changed".

With that in mind it would have to be the creation of the universe, since it is responsible for all harm done to humanity.

The October Revolution here too. Not just because it started a communist country, but because one can imagine Hitler would have never come to power without a Bolshevik menace to his east...
                      Unbelievable!

You're right; the end of the Babylonian captivity was probably more important.
