Tomorrow the world will show its unity against a war in Iraq (the UN has already done it). I plan on joining the protests scheduled tomorrow in Logan City What are your plans?

The sad thing is, my actions will have as much impact on the world as all of the loons dancing nude in the streets with "Save Saddam" t-shirts tied around their waists.

I'm going to buy a new suit and get a haircut for my JET Program interview next Friday. Then I'm probably going to do some homework before going out and getting pissed. The bars should be a lot more fun with all the hippies occupied elsewhere.
KH FOR OWNER! ASHER FOR CEO!! GUYNEMER FOR OT MOD!!!
Burning the US flag is woeful lack of sensitivity to the ultimate target audience of these protests: the American people. Bush will keep his foot on the accelerator if he knows the American people are behind him, as he does now.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

The American people have already voiced their opinion: No war without UN backing.
War without the UN, but with select allies, has 57% support.

Yep, really. Realize that this is much higher support than Bush I had in Gulf War I.
Who has been spreading this misinformation about the support Bush has among the American people?

I guess the select allies would principally involve Britain - but Blair has made it politically impossible for himself to join in without a second UN resolution.
We'll see. He has certainly taken political risks. He might just bite the bullet and hope for a good outcome in the war.

He's made commitments and 'forgotten' them before now, to be sure - but never at such a politically supercharged moment.
I remain optimistic that, even assuming he's only out for himself (assumed in most cases more often than is strictly fair), the potential diplomatic damage caused by a rift with Washington will be dwarfed by the political damage at home if he goes in without the UN.
