  • George Bush's Economy Recipebook - Recipe #3

    Scare the consumer!
Scare them so that they go out and buy everything that U.S. Fire Administrator David Paulison has put on a "list of useful items" and pretty soon concerned citizens will gobble it up! "'Everything that was on that newscast, we are selling a lot of it,' said Rich Pierce".

I know that when gas descends on my little corner of the country, or when a nuclear weapon finds its way to my house, duct tape and string will certainly help me!

Especially with the $3 tax break the government gave me! God bless ya, georgie!

Don't forget to cut taxes for the rich so that the younger generations will have to pay taxes out the ass for social secruity when the baby boomers retire.

Please God don't let us have a recession then. That would kill us.

As one who lives about a half mile from any assumed ground zero, I appreciate the list. It made me think about what steps I would take if an attack were to happen, even if I don't buy the duct tape.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

About 5 miles for me (CDC). It definetly is helpful.

I stocked up on water and food. Appearantly they may try to contaminate those things. I'm trying to tell myself that I'm safe and not to be afraid because that's what they want.

This homeland security shopping list reminds me of that General Thomas Enders quote from during the Reagan years: "With enough shovels, we'll get through it...."

All you have to do is shovel dirt on top of yourself to survive a nuclear war. And make sure you have a nice warm coat for the nuclear winter to follow.

You better hope it's not nuclear, because no list is going to help you at that distance.

Depends on if it's a bona fide nuke or just a radiological device.

It also depends on how big the bomb is.

Building a bomb small enough to do less damage than a Hiroshima-sized device is probably beyond the capabilities of most groups. Hiroshima-sized would be the easiest.

                        I don't count radio-dispersal devices as nukes at all. There's no chain-reaction...

I'm not gonna stock up on anything. If we get bombed, we get bombed, and duct tape won't help me.

Of course, if this war leads to us getting bombed, then Bush better get killed in some attack because if not I'm gonna be pretty pissed at him. Stupid mother****er doesn't realize that his foreign policy is directly responsible for us needing emergency supplies

Well, if it's a nuke, then the whole country has a huge problem anyway and I'll be a statistic. If it's a radioactive material dispersion device, then the duct tape might help.

I'm not gonna stock up on anything.

You live in fvcking Texas. Give me a break.

                              Hmmm.

The US has seen a confederate assassin, a free-love assassin, an anarchist assassin and a communist assassin.

It's about time for a libertarian assassin.
