    Wasn't SLC originally named Hooverville?

Some great scenery. I'm not a big on skiing, but we played golf on some FANTASTIC courses. But as everyone else mentioned, as a party town, it SUCKS. The clubs aren't that bad, but they're not open enough. We were able to get bottled beer that wasn't 3.2
I can't imagine being black and living there.

The worse thing was that every time I was trying to relax somewhere (outside of the clubs) somebody would come up to me and try to convert me. You'd be sitting by a pool and some good looking woman would come up to you and start chatting. Right about when you thought it was Action Jackson time, the conversation would change to "wouldn't you like to convert to my faith" Quite depressing

On the plus side, my business trips there were to check up on a call center that we used as a back up. The reps were all well educated and reliable. 99% Mormons.

I love Salt Lake and most of the rest of Utah too. You guys are so mean. Why is it OK to put down Mormons, when if you said comparable things about other religions, say, the Jews, it would definitely not be OK?
It's a beautiful area, the people are nice (just pretend that you're already Mormon or something), the street system is organized, and motels are cheap.

But I admit it is very boring there. Bring your own liquour. I hear the beer is watered down as well.
Yeah, the scenery can be nice, but it's usually just whatever I'm used to up in the Canadian rockies on a smaller scale.

In the ski villages I have never had trouble getting a pint (or several) of refreshment. There are eight or nine quality ski resorts within a half hour of downtown, and the snow is amazing. Absolutely the most convenient from the airport, cheapest lodging, and best snow in the States. That alone makes SLC not suck. (but it is close)

The problem is those pints are only half strength.

                    Hence the several.

Then again, if the aim is to get drunk, swilling X pints of beer seems inefficient under normal circumstances.

Naw, any chance, however miniscule, that you might end up talking about theology, wouldn't make it worth it. Are they even called ministers? It's the simple things that would trip you up and limp you down. If I wanted to molest children, I'd become a clergyman in my current faith. It's more tolerant of that type of thing.

I forgot to mention the golfing!!!!!

I have golfed in several different states, and the sheer number of golf courses in Utah is suprising.

If you ever get there to golf again RAH, I highly recommend Mount Ogden golf course. You will of course need a cart, and don't think about looking for lost golf balls.

I've only played there twice and both times we drove up into the mountains. Both course were challenging and the scenery was spectacular. But we were able to find enough booze that I can't remember the name of either course off the top of my head. Doh.
