  • SimCity4?

    Would you recommend it?

Also, more importantly (as I will probably buy about anything with "Sim" slapped on it), what's the Accelerated 3d mode thingy? What would SC4 be like without it? What with it? Is it a major selling point? I ask because I see this box near the Installation Requirements on the package that sez my videocard, while capable, won't run the Accel. 3d mode. Help please on this one.

Look in the Other Games forum .

      Personally, I wouldn't.

Sim CIty 4 does not seem that much different to me then Sim CIty 3000. Allthough I have not played Sim City 4, only going by what I have seen in previews and adds.

I bought it the day it came available at a local Walmart. The game has gazillions of issues and bug-like qualities. It's playable, even moderately enjoyable, but I'd suggest everyone who hasn't gotten it yet wait until they've released the first patch, which should be announced in the next coupla weeks or so...
The cake is NOT a lie. It's so delicious and moist.

The first patch is out, however I've been having trouble downloading it.
The game is totaly difference from no. 3. You still build a city, however the way you build it is quite difference.
Go to other games and you can read what some people are saying about the game. Also go to Simcity4.com bbs and read about it.

But you might want to take a look in the "other Games" section... there's like 5-6 threads about this game already (Well... all threads have their own thing to talk about, so it's not 5-6 threads about the same thing )

Though it requires a hell of a machine...

In the other games forum you'll find a lot more info about the game. This thread should be moved there, btw.
I watched you fall. I think I pushed.

Sorry about the other games forum, I didn't know

I did buy the game, and after I turned down all the graphics options to bare minimum, I was able to play it (mostly). Anyways, I was amazed at how quickly the city ate up cash , but it was a good buy in the end. A few of my favorite new things in my first game were the regions, the new God tools, the Lightning disaster , and the ability to name anything anything. No, you could really name any building Anything.

It's great yes, but who wants to name their building "Anything"... wouldn't "something" be a better thing to name the buildings?
