I'd be more in favor of kicking France out.

No, it should be kicked out.

As worthless as it is now, without the US, it would be even worse.

I'm American and I say get the hell out.

the UN is useless. utterly useless. reforms needed to salvage it would be time consuming and possibly shut down.

              third times a charm.

If America goes against the UN and attacks Iraq, then it deserves to be kicked out. Sad days, indeed.

I don't understand why the US can attack Iraq and call it terrorism fight, and Russia cannot do the same with the whole world then
I will never understand why some people on Apolyton find you so clever. You're predictable, mundane, and a google-whore and the most observant of us all know this. Your battles of "wits" rely on obscurity and whenever you fail to find something sufficiently obscure, like this, you just act like a 5 year old. Congratulations, molly.

hasn't the US refused to pay its dues to the UN?

surely not paying its share isnt going to help things...

Withdrawing from an organization dedicated to diplomatic solutions would be retarded. But hey, its a great way to make the rest of the world hate us even more!

i didn't hear about that, but technically with all our aid, we're paying for ALL the memberships of ALL the countries in one way or another

The UN is the underlying basis for things such as the NPT, the WTO, the WHO, the IMF, the convention of biological and chemical weapons,so forth and so on. If the US wants to leave the UN, then it can begin to kiss all those things goodbye. Anyone here who wants a world free of all those things, go ahead and ask for the US to leave the UN.

After all, who needs well regulated trade, a halt to proliferation of WMD, and international heath innitiatives? What did they ever get us?

Bush is catching hell from peple aboutt Iraq, for instance.
If we're going to catch hell, I'm thinking maybe it should be for things we actually do, rather than taking blame for what was supposed to be a collective effort.

People like Chegitz, who are internal problems, are really not that much of a problem.
I was curious though about how the US view would compare with non-USA views.

I'm beginning to think out, but have not voted yet.
