Notepad owns...I use it far more than any other wordprocessor. I don't need all those silly things like formatting for most stuff.

I love UltraEdit 32, but it's shareware. Much, much better than Notepad, and much less bloated than word.

Note Tab is great. (plain text).
I actually baught Note Tab pro, and recieve for free all upgrades to the 4.xx version.
It has abilities for plain text editing, that you'd think only word processors have.Comment

Notepad+ is awesome. I used to use it all the time, but the newer versions of Windows consider it a key component, so whenever I replace Notepad with Notepad+, it just copies over it again.
