  • Racism Against Whites Not Being Taken Seriously?

BBC, News, BBC News, news online, world, uk, international, foreign, british, online, service

Racist attacks on white people are not being taken seriously enough, according to a Labour MP whose town was hit by race riots.

Phil Woolas, whose Oldham constituency was the scene of running battles between Asian and white youths in the summer of 2001, has written to the Commission for Racial Equality (CRE) complaining about the problem.
How pathetic that he is now being criticised for whipping up extreme right-wing group support.

He's just addressing a real issue.

The problem is that the whole race relations/equality thing is an industry now and people who work in it will fight anything that threatens their cushy little number.

They rolled the Commission for Racial Equality, the Disabled Rights Commission and the Equal Opportunities Commission into one to get them to argue with each other rather than irritate everyone else but it hasn't kept them quiet. The government should have the guts to disband the lot. It would be the best thing ever done for race relations and equality in the UK.

Having a race thread started by Bods is a bit like... well, having a race thread started by Caligastia.

What's wrong with starting a race thread? If you don't want to talk about it, don't participate.
