Done it...2398...which isn't bad for a geriatric system like mine (Athlon 700, GeForce 1 DDR)...my computer is over 3 years old...

          Now I'm gonna brag bout my P3 500 / voodoo3 / 256 SDRAM... HAHAHAHAHA

Takes 15 minutes each turn in the modern ages... oh well.

Still, I'm not planning on getting a new computer until Doom 3 comes out so I know what specs I will need to run it flawlessly. And if I can get Doom3 to run fast, my rig will be a monster Civ3 machine too.

I managed to get my score up to 9.5K with lots of FSB overclocking. I was running at 148MHz compared to the normal 133.

I don't have the compare link handy as it was many FDisks ago, but I'll be able to run another test later tonight as I'm running 7 fans ,it's very quiet , to keep everything cool. Don't know if the card will cope now. I'll need to get rid of all the dist that's accumulating in my machine.

Download 3DMark2001SE and run the default test.

3DMark2001SE is a DirectX 8.1 benchmarks, 3DMark2003 is almost out and it'll be DirectX 9.

                  3DMark2001SE is here: http://www.futuremark.com/download/?3dmark2001.shtml

i think i had roughly 5k with my 750mhz athlon, gf1 ddr, and 128mb of ram. i haven't found a game yet which isn't playable on this system. of course i have to do lots of tweaking but i don't mind. 30fps is all you need for single player, and sometimes not even that.

                      Was that 5K with 3DMark 2000 or 2001?

Just ran it on my machine here at work. Got a score of 233. That's with a K6-2 500, 256 MB's of RAM, and a Savage 4 w/ 32 MB's of video RAM.
