  • "Light speed too slow?" What are your normal download speeds? Connection?

Depending on the file(s)' popularity, I can get files off Kazaa at about 220-260k per sec with my cable modem. I can download an entire CD quicker than going to the store and buying it (which I wouldn't do anyways, but hey ). From web sites (http protocol) I can download most files around 100k per sec.

What are your fastest download speeds? Average? What kind of connection are you sporting?

My cable is 1.5 megabit download and 1.2 megabit upload.
To us, it is the BEAST.

I have ludicrous speed, i.e. cable. I'm really not aware of how fast it is, only that it always seems to be fast enough.

            I have a cable modem, and I usually get about 60 KB/s to 100 KB/s on downloads.

highest I've ever gotten was 255K/sec or so. I'm on a T3, so usually it only matters what the server I'm downloading from is running at.

                  Dial-up, 28.8K on a good day, usualy on 10K.

                  This is because:

                  A: Can't get Cable modem where I am, and can't afford $50 a month.

B: Because of the hill, can't have Sat connection.

C: Verizon won't upgrade these phones which were built back in the 1930's and my enitre development is subject to just ONE switch box up at the main road. Hence I can never call anyone because "all switches are busy" and why I can't get online until about 9:30PM and only make 1 or 2 posts here generaly.

I think I should torture the world by having super long porn MPEGs on my 28.8K modem and watch and idiots try to download it off of Kazaa... that should teach eveyone from stealing copyrighted music and videos!

maybe if ur looking for really popular songs like Eminem... yeah I get around that speed, but rare songs with one host available, and is online rarely and is on some really slow @$$ server.... i generally get 0.2k - 20k because of this.

I have two tracks missing from God's Son. I have them all, but the two songs downloaded always get cut off (mastermind and p#ssy killz). And you would think this is an easy albumn to download...
