I would love to live in France, if it wasn't for the French.

Can't remember where I got this from or who the people are:
Frenchman: If I weren't French, I think I would like to be English
Englishman: If I weren't English, I think I would like to be English

I do think the France bashing is worse than the US bashing. YOU would have thought the Yanks would have some sympathy.
One day Canada will rule the world, and then we'll all be sorry.

I remember this one incident concerning France in the early 90's:

France was planning to make (and so they did!) nuclear tests in the bikini atolls. There was heavy resistance among the Australians (or that was the picture I got from the media). When the president of France (Chirac/Mitterand/Whocares) was questioned about the resistance, he referred the Australia as "an inconsequential country". INCONSEQUENTIAL?!?! I have a hard time to think a country almost as big as the whole Europe to be inconsequential...

I'm not a complete idiot: some parts are still missing.

Yeah, we are still pissed off at the French for that.

Right. Cause trying to prevent Saddam from having access to chemical and biological weapons, after he used them in the past to kill tens or hundreds of thousands - that would be insane, right?
This one is my favorite reason of all, especially when you consider that we sold him the helicopters to disperse said agents, and we supplied low-interest loans to purchase agricultural "dual-use" materials of dubious value, and Hussein continued to be our guy even after the gassing of the Kurds.

France is no more or less hypocritical than any other country, but their is little room for righteous indignation on our part, as well.

Are you sure of this quote?
Are you sure it wasn't a translation mistake: inconsequent (french) = inconsistent, thoughtless (english)

Is calling Australia a thoughtless country any better than inconsequential?

That's why France gets bashed, no respect for other civilized countries. Sooner or later they alieninate everyone.
