  • Does anyone know any good Free web space?

I have been looking at many of the sites listed here:

100 Best Free Web Space offers users free website hosting reviews on the best cheap web hosting providers and free hosting services. If you're looking for free web space with no ads, a quality low cost web host, or a business web hosting plan with lots of features - FreeWebSpace has web hosting reviews & website tutorials

But I haven't been able to find any good free web spaces yet...

I need a place where the max file limit is no less than 5 mb (I have made a program, which size is ~3 mb, and at my current place (at brinkster.com) there's a limit of 1 mb (And it's not userfriendly to have the users download 4 different files, just to install a program...

Does anyone else know of a good place?

If all you need is a place to store a single file, I think someone here will be ready to store it on their own webspace... in fact, even I could do it. Well, depending on what sort of a program it is.

The program is a program to keep track of all your movies (though it's only a beta at the moment, and only avaliable in danish... at the moment...)

You could always store your homepage on one server and the file on another (although that might cause problems if you are going to update the prorgam regularly)... in fact, I think there are some (free) places that are meant for storing larger files outside of your webspace.

I have been searching for some free space for files, but the only thing I found was yahoo briefcase, but they mention they have a rule about public sharing: Files/full-size pictures are not allowed

Does anyone else know of such a place, where it's possible to share files for everyone, without the need for them to login?

              I'm at tripod.co.uk

They gave me a 100mb limit (I think new arrivals now only get 50mb). The only annoyance is the popup that shows up every time you open a new page.

They don't have any restrictions, AFAIK, other than the usual ones about illegal content. Also, they might get annoyed if all you were doing was sharing that file. IF you've got an actual homepage, though, it's probably cool.

www.orcon.net.nz ... offers free webspace, 10MB of it, without ads, though I'm not sure if it is available to anyone outside NZ.

Just go to the sign-up page and sign up for an email account and free webspace. You don't have to sign up for any ISP services at all.

Thx, I'll check out those two places...

Strange, in the subscribed threads page, it has never mentioned anything about that people replied to this thread...

You can only access it as dial up, and you have to be in Britain, but other than that there are no restrictions on size.

                      Free unlimited webspace.
                      Free unlimited email box space.
Free unlimited access to your website.

The Enixine website is now over 100MB large and the email box is roughly the same too. Dabsol have yet to raise any questions or problems with us.

Of course, now that none of us live in the UK, the website can never be updated. But we all have our little problems.

Can't you just use a British proxy server?

I can't seem to find the upload button in the site manager... I can only find a combobox saying "Upload via", and then be able to choose single files or .zip files... but nothing happens when choosing one of those...
