  • The weirdest thing just happened...

I was sitting here calmly browsing 'poly before I go to bed and all of a sudden I got the strangest feeling that somebody was looking over my shoulder. It was very realistic and I felt quite certain that sombody was there, I could almost see them out the corner of my eye. Only there was nobody there.

I didn't feel surprised when I thought somebody was standing beside me, although I should have done because I'm the only person awake in the house right now. It was very natural and actually felt very pleasant until I realised there was nobody - then I got a bit freaked out.

    It was really, REALLY, creepy.

So ... was it a ghost? was it jesus? am I going crazy? has anything like this happened to you before?
If I'm posting here then Counterglow must be down.

Doesn't exist, doesn't exist, probably, no...

      Ghost.
Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away.

You lucky bastard, I've searched my whole life for an apparition and here you have one just by feeling sleepy. Unfair, I tell you, unfair.

This has actually happened to me several times in the past. Usually it's a trick of the light, i.e., a large dark object on the edge of my vision seems to resemble a human form. Other times, I turn and see only the clear air.

Possibly it's a result of primal human alertness strung to its highest. Maybe it's an otherworldly visitor. I only know it's happened to me too.

Why can't ghosts be figments of our imagination?

It was an astral projection of your future self (probably after he's died) examining the life he just led. Apparently surfing 'Poly is an important thing, otherwise you wouldn't have sensed anything.

It was me. Sorry, didn't mean to intrude.

'Tis happened to me. I was typing, like I am now, and I looked up and gasped, some one was looking at me through the window! .... but after minutes of logical deduction, I came to the conclusion that it was the reflection of myself in the window glass.

It's the shadow people! I heard it on Art Bell and look! It's all true!

Actually when I was a kid something really wierd happened. I was sitting watching TV w/ my family and caught something out of the corner of my eye. I looked and it was a man coming at me with hands outstretched and a nasty look on his face. Yeah I know it sounds like a B movie, but it scared the crap out of me. I turned away and sat like a petrified statue. When I got up the guts to look back it was gone. I was maybe 7 years old. It appeared between a standing lamp and the wall, but when I studied it later there wasn't possibly room between them for what I saw.

I never told anyone...even my family who were all in the room at the time. I think it may have been my father, but younger than I ever knew him.

Things like this probably happen to everyone.
