  • The Perestroika Deception - New Lies for Old

Perestroika - Restructuring of the entire world?

    Russia's long-range vision?

    The "Former" Soviet Bloc

    Could Putin be the Antichrist?

"Gentlemen, comrades, do not be concerned about all you hear about Glasnost and Perestroika and democracy in the coming years. They are primarily for outward consumption. There will be no significant internal changes in the Soviet Union, other than for cosmetic purposes. Our purpose is to disarm the Americans and let them fall asleep." - Gorbachev, CCCPSU 1987

"There cannot be a new order, unless the old is destroyed." - Putin/Gorbachev

It is ovious Gorbatchev was having a double language with pro-democracy westerners (which he needed), and anti-democracy apparatchiki (which he needed too). I guess he lied to both parties to fulfill his own agenda, which was a significant economic reformation of the USSR, and a slight institutional reformation to make it more dynamic.

Gee, shucks, you mean Gorbachev said different things to different audiences?

My faith in humanity is just shattered.

No, I mean that Gorbachev was instructed to play different cards. He wasn't pushing his own agenda, but the KGB's. Really, no one in the Kremlin has any real power to wield. There is no government in Moscow, per say. It's actually just one giant espionage ring, with the main players in the "government" being only central to/subservant to the KGB higher-ups.

Anyway, I see this plan in existence. It has not, however, been given much attention, and that's going to lead to a big kick in the ass in the future.

Sad that Golitsyn, who had a glimpse into the inner workings of the KGB, tried to help(he named the highest ranking CIA and MI5 agents as KGB agents; I wouldn't be surprised if some of them are still manning their posts today), but no one listened.

And for the Eastern Europeans, don't be so quick to praise your "democracies." It's no surprise that most of the candidates running for seats are former Communist Party members, in your respective republics. There's a reason for that. And you'll soon find out what that is.

Because their Commie party membership cards fit so nicely in their arses?

Any kick in the ass can be considered as a step forward. Now let's just figure out where it takes us.

I have to say, though, Gorbachev's political perestroika was a smart move, as it trimmed the beaurocracy a bit, deleted some of the beaurocratic layers that Breznhev's group put in place, and aliviated the strain on economy a bit.

Gorbachev's economic perestroika, however, was a disaster. Opening the doors to capitalism was the dumbest move ever, as it allowed foreign capital to fly into the Soviet Union, thus devalueing the ruble.

Funny thing, as I remember, you would work a state job, and then, when you went to buy goods, they wouldn't accept your currency, because they wanted European or American currency! and vice versa. It was so confusing and so laughable.

You haven't got a slightest clue about economics, have you?
