If we ever want to be able to properly explore space, we need to understand fundamental science better, and that means more money should be spent on particle physics experiments.

Particle physics research is the only way - we will not get into proper space exploration with this sort of junk.
Huh. I assume you were being cute. Please don't tell me you were serious. CERN weenie.

Sava doesn't even remember Joe. Sava is a newbie. We need to haze Sava.

God, what a little poseur! Pathetic, really, acting like you remember something that you do not. tsk-tsk.

Sava, you ought to be ashamed of yourself, little man.

Nope. I am serious. Do you really think NASA is going to get you anywhere?

Sure. That's how we found the rings of Uranus and geology of the moon and crap like that.

Go play with those circling positrons.

They are all in our solar system. If you want to do anything like going to other suns you will have to figure out some physics first. NASA is just a big publicity stunt - all hype, no substance.

Rogan, what good would it do us to go to other suns if we can't move around once we get there?

                  baby steps.

we CAN be figuring out new physics while using what we know

back in the days of Columbus, no one was shouting "wait! i think we can use steam instead of wind to get there faster!"

                  go NASA!

Interstellar travel. That's pretty damn unlikely. And if we want to do years-long voyages we need to learn to do shorter ones first.

He's just a typical narrow-minded scientist. Little understanding of other fields or general tech development or of how to prioritize needs. Surprise, surprise. He thinks his research is most important. He hasn't even defined the objective function and is already telling us his work will optimize it.

                          exactly.

mind you, I support particle physics research as well.

Yeah. Particle physics is fine. Don't see any reason to cut everything else, though.

I would prefer Bush to colonize the moon, It would be sooo interesting.

                              might keep him busy, too.
