Why was the Libertarianism thread closed? At least that is what my browser is telling me.

Was it Berzerker's evident stupidity at not being able to comprehend the arguments of other posters?

Seriously though, when a thread gets more than 500 responses and is generating more, and there are no death threats or pornography being posted, what's the problem?

Overly long threads put strain on the server. The usual practice for Threads That Will Not Die is to begin a new thread like "That last topic, part II." That's what's been done with the Morrowind thread on the Other Games forum -- it's now in to Part III.

Most Threads That Will Not Die need to be put out of their misery after awhile. It sounds like the Libertarianism thread was one of them.
