Im not gonan die dont rejoice.

    but here we have it.

a 3 day vacations and what hjappens? i get a tonsils infection (AGAIN) get 40 celcius fever (for you who use farenait, that is VERY high fever) which refuses to drop despite the anti-fever and antibiotics drugs... and goes on for the full 3 days of my vacation

plus my throat is shut down (cant eat or drink unless i scream in pain while shalowing)

It is time to remove my tonsils? (amygdales)

I begin to think that it is. This ios the 4 time this year that I had a tonsil infection (although not as rough as this one)

HAs any of you removed his/hers tonsils (not when they were small kids, later) .

_does your voice change when you remove them?
_did you stop getting sick from cold all the time?
_did it hurt a lot after you removed them and for how long?

    Thanks.

Im going back to my death bed, Ill check your answers later.
    Thanks again

    Re: Terminally ill

I know a friend whom described the exact same problem that you are describing, other than he had MUCH less energy. The doctors went ahead and removed his tonsils and before when he couldnt swallow or else he would feel a very sharp pain (he describes it like "swallowing a porkupine" (sp)) within three days he had almost completly recovered and had simply went home on medication. So I suppose in some cases it is beneficial to remove your tonsils.

However, if you are indeed that sick you should not be using a computer If you do such things, you are only destined to make yourself much more ill.

Sounds like you might have got Glandular Fever (Infectious Mononucleosis). http://www.netdoctor.co.uk/diseases/...dularfever.htm

I had that a couple of years ago, it's very nasty. Nothing they can do for you other than give you antibiotics for the tonsilitis. Sometimes early blood tests for it show up negative. My first one did but my second was fine.

It totally wiped me out for 2 months (off work for a month, reduced hours for a further month) and I wasn't back to full strength for 18 months.

Tass, thanks foir the info I know I shouldnt be using the computer but im on my wit's end. i have spent yerstrday all day in bed never getting up except ofr going top the toilet and with 40 fever you are constantly in a state of lithargy. not exactly awake and not exactly asleep at the same time. thankfully i have my family looking out for me, but i cant stay in bed any longeri feel like ill go crazy the fever has now dropped somewhat thats why i can walk

Mike, I think you're spot on about tonsilitis (the doctor will arrive today to check me out - so far only advice from telephone). it just started 2 days ago and it went in a frantic pace. staurday there was almost no problem and now its all hell.
i check the symptoms for mononucleosis, luckily they dont seem to fit what i went through

but im 100% sure it is tonsilitis )again)

40 fever sucks butts! Once had it.. uh. I'd go with what Tass just said.

edit: paiktis, don't worry.. I mean life is something where everyone gets killed! You can die from drinking too much water, you can die from everything if you think about it.. I don't think you're gonna die with this thing .

btw, you were right in the other thread were I was worried about my heart.. doctor said it's most likely panic attack for me . Nasty stuff, feels like you can't breath and you're about sure you're dying.. plus heart goes funny. But it's nothing dangerous so.. just nasty.

Pekka i just counted my temperature again and its 36.7 (with anti-fever drugs of course)

no wonder i can sit in a chair and not fall over

but every single shallow i make it's still like a knife running through my throat. water or food its all the same. i can deal with no more pain mercy!

yesterday i was ready to remove my tonsils myself! Starngly only one is inflated (and white from err that bad white stuff) like a baloon, the other is keeping it character.

about the other thing, yep just nasty. it's very good, you'll agree, that there is nothing wrong with your heart (now that would be dangerous)

still there are also the heart beats per minute. i dont want to scare you, there is no reason to be scared anyway, but just to point out this:

the heart beats per minute could escalate out of the limit through a panic attack and that could (in the long run) be detrimental to your heart. but since your doctor said nothing about it then you dont need to worry.
my cousine had been given a heart relaxing drug or something, when the heart beats per minute would go crazy, she used it for some time and now there is no use anymore for it, she doesnt have panic attacks or crazy hear beats per minute. so its all a precaution

The worst part of Glandular fever for me was the tonsilitis. Was horrible. You have my sympathy.

Nah paiktis, you won't get to die yet . Besides, you're young and strong, so.. it's one from million chance for that, and you're not that 'lucky'.
Anyway, don't move too much even now, if your temperature is being lowered by those drugs.. you're still sick. But you knew that.. so, drink some tea, rest and watch porn!

Get well soon, Paiktis And I´m sure the operation will be an uncomplicated one.

I´ve had something similar and it wasn´t fun. You have my sympathy also.

Most of the risk of a tonsillectomy is the general anesthesia so just have them hack em out without any. Nowadays, they're less likely to perform a tonsillectomy so long as the infections clear up. If yours respond to antibiotics then its probably strep. You might want to think about where you're acquiring the infection schools, daycare, younger family members etc and avoid them.
