  • Do You Live Alone?

Since last monday I've had two people staying with me. A friend of mine and her little girl stayed with me for a week. She was waiting to get her new apartment and had gotten into a serious arguement with her parents who she had been staying with. I have lived alone for quite some time and I was set in my ways. Despite my initial feelings to letting her stay, it turned out to be rather cool to have someone around. Me and her have known each other for years and went out a long time ago. She is 30 and her daugther is 12. She was supposed to stay with another of her friends but her friend and her friend's husband were having serious problems and she didn't want her daugther to be in that enviroment. For some it may sound bad for a single woman and her daughter to say over at a single guy's house but i have known them for along time. The little girl is a huge football fan so we got along great. It worked out since I have two bedrooms in my place. The girl got the spare, my friend got my room and I got the couch. It was really weird living in a place with two females but the company was great and the adjustment wasn't that difficult. Plus she cooked They left today to their new place and I was sad to see them go.

I like being able to do whatever I want whenever I want and not have to worry about someone else there, but to be honest the company was worth loosing that. I had a great time. Watched lots of football and stayed up late watching VH1 and MTV while I was educated by the little one on all the new pop stars that apparently I have no clue about. I introduce her to CCR and she gives me the low down on who JLOW is dating now.

    It's J-Lo.

I like having people rattling around my place, but not necessarily if I have to deal with them. I live with Bunnygrrl, my two cats, and a bunny. Life seems to revolve around me, as whereever I am, everyone (but the bunny) is also. It's kinda nice.

I miss having Theben around, but I really don't want anyone other than close friends and family in my place anymore. I lived the Real World and it wasn't like TV, let me tell you.

Sounds like you had a cool time, Old Man.

Would you believe me if I said it was a typo?

Yeah it was good to see her again and i didnt mind helping out. She has been through a lot lately and this was the only place she said she could feel comfortable. Her mom and dad are real *******s. She supported them for a long time a few years ago and when she needed help, they got all self rightouse so she left. Her daughter broke up with her boyfriend and I got to hear all about that in between commercials during the games. But yeah I had fun with them being there. It makes a difference for sure.

I live with a roommate even though I could afford to have my own place. I just like to have the company. It's nice to have someone to hang out with at 10pm on a Weds night, and it let's me get away from my, on again off again, girlfriend when we fight. I like it.

You guys are way more advanced than me.

I still live with my parents, my sister, one rosella, two cockatiels, a mouse under the secondary sofa, and several dozen fish. My friend from many, many years ago just moved to town, and I've been wanting to catch up, but there's been too many things to do. I think I see just the hint of a window opening this weekend, so I'm gonna give him a call and see what happens.

I love it when my family comes up to visit for a few days. Due to work schedules and whatnot, we can only do that, at the most, every two to three months. It's usually my mother and one or two of my siblings that come up w/her and, frankly, it's great seeing them (even if we do end up squabbling a bit from time to time, which is natural ... shopping is stressful on my mother, and she doesn't sleep well).

I live with three flatmates, Tom, Chris and Adam.

Only problem seems to be in the washing-up department. Me and Tom are hoarders and do it say twice a week, whereas Chris and Adam wash as they go along...

No we don't have a dishwasher.

I'm currently living alone, but my brother will move in in a few weeks or so. I am not a very social person, but having someone around to get me to do some tidying up is nice because I'm anything but a neat person. IOW, I don't like having people around, but if I have to have company, I prefer at least dealing with them in some meaningful way instead of having them just rattle around.

My girlfriend and her two flatmates are hoarders, going into their kitchen is a disgusting expericence.

Generally speaking I think people that doesn't wash directly after the meal should be shot!

My girlfriend will have to learn the right way before she'll get the chance to live with me, the wash-fascist.

Oh, and yes I live alonish. In a dorm, I scream at people from time to time in the kitchen.

I'm an unsocial bastard who hates sharing. When I went to my parents for christmas with my wife, I despised every minute of it. My mam doesn't even knock on doors, always demands to know where I am, and always searches my room. I'm 29 for ****s sakes.

I'm so glad I'm back at my flat.

For years, I lived alone and got along fine.

Then a friend of mine was moving out of the apartment he shared with two other guys and he badgered my into moving in to take his place. It was a great savings & we got along well. A year later, we all moved to a house. Then one guy moved out to get married but talked his female office-mate into moving in with us.

This Christmas, the female headed back to New Jersey to celebrate the holidays with her family, the male took off for Mammoth to go skiing, and I was once again "batching" it. It was lonely. John came back last night and Jessica is due back today.
