    ACK!
I loaned out my copy so long ago, I have no idea where it went. Still, it's a great book! My favorite part, when the Fellowship is attacked by the gigantic thesaurus with wide lapels and long, dangling participles.

Graag, that's quite different from my translation.
When I bought it, I browsed three different translations before choosing one. They were all incredibly different. I think that it is inevitable that this book will be difficult to translate.

Bored Of the Rings is such utter ****. It reminds me of the very, absolute worst of Mad magazine, the utter tripe of it. It's pathetically infantile.
The same goes for Good Omens, but I'm more mad at Good Omens because they are two good writers: they should have known better!

MattyBoy, yup. I've looked at something like 7 or 8 paperback forms of the Tao Te Ching, but I haven't bought any of them as I find Mr Merel's the most poetic.

I also fail to understand how anyone, on any kind of drug, could ever find Garfield funny.

I guess I am still reading the Iluminatis Trilogy, Grimms book of Fairy Tales, Colume 2 of the Masters of Sceince Fiction and Fantasy (or whatever they are called), and a few other books

not sure if I will finish the collections right now (I really shoudl finish the Iluminatus trilogy right now, but I am not longer in the mood for it, we will see)

I will probably be hitting the library soon, where upon I will enter my reading mode and read 2-3 400 page novels a day

but for the last 10 years (or more) it has mostly just been more of the same

I'm halfway through; they're both great, although it's useful to make notes while reading II on which 3rd and 4th Rothschild generation member is who. Much easier to place Nathan Mayer, James, Salomon, Amschel and Carl in their respective cities

But buy vol. I and read it first.

                                Cheers.
