Yeah I can see that angle. Certainly though the US is somewhat just as dependent on UK diplomacy, which gives it a certain air of "legitimacy" around the world, when the UK backs us up. Though this legitimacy seems to have eroded in the past 2 years as people now lump the US/UK as being the same thing.

I know alot of people see Blair as a weak puppy dog that follows Bush around.

But in regards to Sept. 11th, the symbolic gestures specifically made by the British public were all very appreciated by the Americans as a people.

I don't even know who Beefheart is.

Hmm... true it is a mutually dependent relationship, and I do take your point on the gestures of the british public... but the US is very much the dominator in the relaship, something many brits don't like too much.

OLD FART AT PLAY

pappy with the khaki sweatband
