  • UK Floods

    What are your experiences?

Driving to Aber on Sunday, there were waterfalls coming down off the hillss, passing across the road, and down the hill to the left . I'd never seen anything like it.

Apparently Trawcoed in Ceredigion was the wettest place over Sunday night. But we should be alright in Aber cos of the sea. hew:

haha! British are just as stupid as Americans.

why do people always think they can drive through that stuff?

It seems like every time there is flooding in the American midwest some idiot tries to drive his Toyota through 10ft deep water.

I guess the Brits just do it with M-Bs.

At least it was one of those small crappy M-Bs.

I've read a lot of climatologist reports on the effects of global warming (don't deny it please, it's fact). Britain is supposed to become more of a tropical paradise as the average global temperature is supposed to rise about 10 degrees Fahrenheit in the next 100 years. There was a good piece on Dateline the other day, although it didn't really mention Britain, it did present evidence that global warming is having a significant effect on plants and animals. I believe the study was done by the University of Texas. Don't believe in global warming? It was 55 degress Fahrenheit in Chicago on Monday... December 30th... 55 degress... WTF!
To us, it is the BEAST.

Something's happening to the environment - you can't say nothing is changing when in the last 2 or 3 years alone we've had record temperatures and weather extremeties.

On Britain, I've read reports which suggest that Britain will freeze over as the warm current carried over from South America (which keeps Western Europe from becoming like Canada in terms of weather) is cut off by the flood of fresh water from melting polar caps.

Hopefully the two will cancel each other out

No point worrying about things we can't control.

                            Inaccurate.

On your own you have a very small effect.
