As I indicated in another thread, there's a lot of you here who I wouldn't mind trolling for girls with...

          You guys are gay!!!!!!!

Personally I think she's amazing. She's voluptous and has great eyes, and a great body and has alot of soul and just all around class. I think it's her heart and soul that sets her apart, and that's especially tough to convey considering the biz she's in.

Or maybe I've just been fooled by the whole image machine.

I'm normally the guy that think all singers and actresses get far too much credit for being "hot" than they deserve, and that most of the magic is done with makeup, clothes, and lighting. And in Jennifer Lopez's case, a hell of alot of PR work.

Really though if you don't find her attractive it's all good you can't help your likes and dislikes.

I don't know why every latin American woman feels she has to become a bottle blond but for some reason they do.
for some reason I take BIG offense to that comment.

WE do not ALL gop with the bottle blonde crap. WE do not feel we need to do ANYTHING of the sort. My God...can you make a MORE ignorant generalization?

She's cute but at 5'2" and with only a high school degree I think most guys could do better, but, to each his own.
yes, ONLY a high school degree, but shes out there making more money than you could probably only ever dream about.

Wow, easy there tiger. It was obviously a generalization the only ignorant thing is to not pick up that it was a generalization. I think you're the only one who didn't.

BTW try going to any country from Costa Rica south and you'll see what I mean. Or even easier you could just turn on Univision and see how 50%+ of the actresses have dyed their hair. If that floats their boat then fine, but, I think they'd look better with their natural color.

That is such crap again, there is absolutely nothing wrong with petite women. I am only 5"7' myself, and quite frankly, I find taller women a turn off. A woman of about 5'3" or less would be ideal for me, especially one that looked like that

All racist, sexist, etc. remarks are generalizations. So what's your point?

You mean women north of the Rio Grande don't dye their hair?

Univision is targeted to the Hispanic audience in the US, it isn't representative at all of the whole range of Latinamerican television.

Thank you I have spent more then a little bit of time in Latin America. I know their are blondes in Latin America but the truth is a very large percentage of Latin American female celebretes does dye their hair. Again, nothing bad about that, but it's easy to tell when hair has been dyed and I think it would look better if their hair wasn't dye.

Rather then getting bent out of shape about insults which never occured you could try to reread exactly what the previous posts said only this time please address what was actually said and not just troll for a flame war.

MtG: this is my previous statement. "I don't know why every latin American woman feels she has to become a bottle blond but for some reason they do". Yes, it is a generalization and I should have prefaced it but I fail to see how I am a knuckle dragging racist by saying it.

Poor taste? Maybe. Is it true? It was exagerated but theobservation does ring true; at least for a great many actresses. Was it racist? Not in the least.

I wasn't saying it was racist - just that racist remarks, and stereotypical remarks, all are generalizations, so the validity of any of them is questionable at best.

There are a large number of natural hair, eye and skin colors and facial features in Latinamerican countries, so there's a huge natural variation besides the different indigenous and mestizo looks.

Soap operas, etc., tend to be (like their US counterparts) absurdly melodramatic characterizations of upper class decadent lives (who wants to see the life story of Juan Valdez, Columbian coffee-picker? Especially if you have a crappy life.) It's escapism, so many of the characters are, or are cast and made up as, the more European look/heritage that is typical in the urban middle and upper classes.

Many Latinamerican countries have significant socioeconomic stratification between their European heritage citizens and mestizo and indigenous citizens, but this reflects rural / urban divides at least as much, if not more than, race. What you see primarily in the US market (Univision) is characteristic of urbanized upper-middle class tastes, because that is the closest approximation to the US Hispanic market. If you look at the whole spectrum of TV shows and news programs, etc., what you see is pretty characteristic of overall national demographics, at least among the viewing audiences.

Actors and actresses do all sorts of stuff for specific roles, no matter where they are, so that doesn't really reflect their interests or tendencies, as much as the story lines writers and producers expect to sell to their intended audiences.

Latinamerica is too big and too diverse to lump into a single category, but I'd say that the percentages of women into artificial hair color or basic appearance changes is probably not any higher than in the US, and maybe lower.
