Segway sales are moving fast on Amazon

The Segway, the new-age scooter that backers say will ``change civilization,'' is supposed to be the fastest company to reach $1 billion in sales.

    meanwhile
San Francisco bans Segways on sidewalks, bike paths

The ban is welcomed by Matt Smith, a columnist on San Francisco Weekly. In a hard-hitting polemic, he called the Segway " the ultimate American doomsday machine," potentially responsible for a "tsunami of lard."

      M'yes...that's what Amazon says.

I'll believe it when I see people using it en masse.

This is a great product and it's good to see that it is becoming successful, even before a wide release. This is sort of the anti-dot.bomb (i.e., an idea without sales).

Won't be long before you have cheap Chinese knock-offs.

Also, just to be clear, the company has not yet made $1 billion in sales. That's just the prediction. ~200,000 units.

A few months ago ****edcompany.com was claiming that Segway had next to zero sales and was begining to downsize... Don't the stupid things cost something like $US 10,000?
