  • Computer Error OE:018:NFF7BO18

After finding Xupiter on my computer when I checked into Apolyton; handy warning there, thank you Mark and Dan for putting it up, I followed the steps exactly to remove all traces of it from my computer. It does still show as an unchecked item in the start up menu, though.

Since then, 3/4 of the time starting the computer, it BSOD with the above Error. It didn't have the problem before removing Xupiter.

If this is in the wrong place, my apologies since I wasn't sure where to post it.

Go into msconfig to make sure there are no attempts to load it during start-up.

      Computer Error OE:018:NFF7BO18
You know, this message sounds bogus to me. I haven't been reading many Windows BSOD's lately, but last time I checked they used true hexadecimal notation for memory addresses (there are no o's and n's in hex - then again, memory addresses didn't have several colons in Win32 last time I checked, either), and were definitely more literal than just "Computer Error". Googling (only two searches, though) didn't reveal anything, either.

I don't think it's another program running though. I think it's just his sytem fubaring trying to run something.

Sorry, that was supposed to be a "B" and not an "N". The OE is a letter O, according to the Microsoft FAQ; the others may be 0 instead of O.

A tech support person has read the message, and after reading my response to them, which was I am not going to reload Xupiter on my machine (her preferred method of dealing with the issue), told me to msconfig, and uncheck all the start menu items, then if that works, recheck them one at a time until I get the error, which I will try later. If that actually works, it would be the first time I was able to get any real help from the tech support group.

I am not sure if you want to do that. I haven't tried it, but unchecking everything could totally fubar Windows.
