Well I do remember a few weeks ago, a team with the worst backup QB in the league, no running back, and no decent WRs ALMOST beat your vaunted Tampa team.

I need not say any more .
Don't forget about how Houston won against Pittsburg without any offense.

When I opened this thread I thought we'd be discussing the premier league in here and whether Arsenal, Manchester United or Liverpool would be winning the title this year...

You need someone to edit your thread title to American Football as 99% of the world will think of it as such, I think pretty much just Americans call the best game in the world "soccer". However, I'm sure with most new english speakers who learn the language informally picking up the language idioms & inflections via MTV, most of the world will call it soccer eventually

Note, I played American Football at university and like the game a lot, just as I like baseball but I prefer football

Ming has been making these threads for the past few weeks (can't seem to remember how many, if there was only a number some where to keep track) so most people know he is talking about the NFL.

I've been making them since week one of the 17 week regular season. There are many soccer threads, you just have to look for them.

But this one is about American Football.

Well Oakland has home field advantage throughout the AFC Championship. What a fun game watching them slip and slide in the downpour. Almost as good as watching a game in the snow.

I was trying for a slight but obvious light heartedness in my post, obviously it didn't show too well. But once again Ming it's not soccer, it's football!

as someone above said, why call your game football when it's kicked about 15 times in 60 mins official gametime and the 3 hrs it actually lasts?

I think what makes me laugh was that the American TV networks IIRC have the power to call breaks during a "gridiron" ( nice name! ) game and tried to do the same to football during the world cup of '98. oops that didn't go down to well did it lads?

You call your game what you want, and we will call our game what we want. We will post in our football threads, and you can go post in your soccer threads...

Because one thing is true... this is an American Football thread... now go away and find some thread where you can talk about soccer and somebody will actually care.

I guess now they won't have to trudge through the snow to get to the SuperBowl .

Then again, will New England even get far enough to play Oakland is another question.

*SIGH* not another soccer vs. football war

New England really looked bad in the last two weeks... very bad.

Favre didn't do so well against a crappy Buffalo defense.

The pack can be beat on road games. And I think that will happen tomorrow.

Well... it will come down to the last Sunday for many teams. (And the Monday Night Games is meaningless)

Oakland and The Giants did what they had to do yesterday.

Green Bay has had some problems on the road, but I still think they can beat the Jets.

I still don't see how Tampa can lose to the Bears. And if they do, they didn't really deserve to be in the play offs anyway

Cleveland has been a better road team this year, with only 2 or their 8 wins at home, so forget about any home field advantage for them playing Atlanta.

I just hope the networks give us some good games to watch in the Chicago Market. If Fox gives us Minny vs Detroit, I'm going to scream

Atlanta is at least leading by 3 over Cleveland... While Pitt finds themselves down to Balt. Some good games so far.

New Orleans completely self-destructed losing the last three games of the season.
