  • Do clones have souls?

... This is the question which I have asked religious people and they don't seem to have a definite answer. To be honest, I'm not sure myself.

Of course they do! They're living creatures, and every living creature got a soul
I will never understand why some people on Apolyton find you so clever. You're predictable, mundane, and a google-whore and the most observant of us all know this. Your battles of "wits" rely on obscurity and whenever you fail to find something sufficiently obscure, like this, you just act like a 5 year old. Congratulations, molly.

Well, no. Just as all humans. human clones, if born, will almost certainly have the same characteristics as regular humans ( shorter telomers could be a problem, but this problem is on it's way to become solved with some cancer protein IIRC)

        Define 'soul'.

'Soul' has whatever definition you want to give it.

May I have one? Even a brainless one would be pretty useful

Well as this 'soul' concept appears to be some theistic manifestation of the nature of conscious which is an artifact of a developed neurological system, it is safe to assume that an exact clone has such a neurological system, and thus, a 'soul'. But 'soul' is a rather difficult term to reason with. It is a rather theistic one, and I don't deal in such concepts.

Only if they're clones of Otis Redding. Oh, wait, you said "souls".

Well it wasn't going to be "soles" was it?

If you believe in God, then you know that God knows everything that can and will happen, so cloning would be taken into account when souls are needed.

That takes the position that God is a babysitter, and ignores that Man has a mind capable of making determined choices.

No, it takes the position that God knows what man and nature are capable of.
