  • Why salvation through Jesus?

Do anyone else get bothered by religious people? There's a lot of people here (and not just Jahovah's witnesses) who seem to think that salvation only comes through Jesus, that man has no power of judgement ( Psalm 82 clearly says men must judge), and that God is either all loving or he is no respecter of man.

What the hell is this? Why must a distant God who has no direct effect upon us be the moral authourity? How can we use ancient texts as moral standards? Should not morality be the product of a logical examination of the effects of an action? Drug use leads to a thousand problems for many different people so it is immoral... not because God says it is... Aint that something? I'm a secular humanist

I love people who try to push their religion on others. It's fun to play with their minds

Why not? Does it really matter how other people find their salvation (through belief in Jesus, worshipping Allah, praying daily to the Unicorn God on Mars) as long as you are comfortable and secure in your own beliefs?

I believe that when I die, I get to be worm food. Some of my friends believe they get to have tea with God. The differences aren't important as we all try to be good people here on Earth, where it actually matters. That's the only thing that counts in life, are you a good person that tries to improve the lives of others in any way, no matter how small?

If you can say "yes" to that question, then everything else is merely commentary.
Exult in your existence, because that very process has blundered unwittingly on its own negation. Only a small, local negation, to be sure: only one species, and only a minority of that species; but there lies hope. [...] Stand tall, Bipedal Ape. The shark may outswim you, the cheetah outrun you, the swift outfly you, the capuchin outclimb you, the elephant outpower you, the redwood outlast you. But you have the biggest gifts of all: the gift of understanding the ruthlessly cruel process that gave us all existence [and the] gift of revulsion against its implications.

                  Why salvation through Jesus?

I don't know. Personally, I don't want to crawl up Jesus' intestines and out through his mouth in order to get his "salve".

                    I don't preach that.

I think you can find salvation through Satan like I have.

If you're too weak to the point where you need a god to save you, then by all means, believe in one. Just don't try to put him in government or in schools. I don't care whatever false truths people want to believe in. Just don't peddle your warez or force them on to others.

Religious people really get quickly tired of trying to convert me Albert. But they are such busibodies thinking it is their duty to offer the road to salvation to other people. And really irritatingly self-righteous too!

That Hippie Carpenter is the son of God, and it is only through him that we can be saved. God has not forsaken because his promise of eternal life still holds. He is the only one that can save us from hellfire.

Surely capitalism is basically a religion itself? They both entail beliefs that freedom and determinism can exist at the same same, for example.
