I have sucessfully maintained non-shaving for the last 6 months (beating my personal record by 5 months), but have decided to shave on christmas day for a number of important reasons:
1. My beard is ginger, whilst my hair is brown. This is unsettling and unattractive.
2. My beard does not grow as might be imagined. Instead the sides grow straggly, whilst the chin grows long, wirey, and goat-like. This is confusing and unattractive.
3. My mustache gets in the way when I eat (and I refuse to trim it, as that defeats the object of having a beard). This is annoying and unattractive.
The beard may support my pseudo-belief in liberty and freedom and personal actions not mattering a damn, but at the end of the day it just isn't getting me any action. I feel I'd be better off without the beard, or at least no more unlikely to get action.
AH, if my personal beard-musings help you I'll be surprised.
