I think the winner's going to be Mr. Kauskouskiuskas. There must be someone with that name running there.

                Results from Kaono Apskritis (region):
                Valdas ADAMKUS - 50%
                Rolandas PAKSAS - second place
                Vytautas ÐERËNAS - third place

So, if only Kaunas people would vote there would be no second round...

Azazel, more on candidates in the link I gave (that was other thread in forums).
Short info on major candidates of 17 available:

Valdas ADAMKUS - current president, former emigrant to USA, led the nature preserving agency there. Former member of Center Union (Center political branch)

Rolandas PAKSAS - acrobatic pilot, was two times mayor of Vilnius (capital), two times prime minister (both times resigned). Member of Liberitarian Democratic party (slightly right)

Artûras PAULAUSKAS - former prosecutor, in second round of 1997 elections lost only by 1% of votes. represents Socialliberitarians (slight left). Current he is parliament director.

Vytautas ÐERËNAS - popular TV show star, candidated as a joke to make fun of presidential elections

Vytenis ANDRIUKAITIS - represents leading socialdemocrats (hard left), but is not the most popular candidate of that faction (the most popular - prime minister - refused to candidate).

Read in thread I gave link to about others...

I don't think it reflects too well to have a joke candidate getting 9% of the vote...

Stefu, people are voting for him as a protest and politically immature persons are also voting on him... He is an absolute joke in fact, he was the only who didn't even had election program.

Socialdemocrats (hard left) are winning in municipality elections in most places.

Well, votes counted still not ended... Results should be clear in 2:00 AM Lithuanian time, however they will be recounted so final results will be known after 3 days or 5 days, while municipalitry election results - after 7-8 days. In January 5th there will be second round.
