    We know, we know ,

    We are talking hypothetical here
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing?
Then why call him God? - Epicurus

I couldn't date a girl who was less intelligent than me .... but fortunately I'm an absolutely ****wit so I'm not narrowing my options too much there.

Stupid women are tiresome after a couple hours at a time. But given the inverse relationship between beauty and intelligence (in both sexes), I wasn't particular about intelligence back when I was simply dating, since it's a Draconian upper limit on looks*.

Now, I've got a fiancee who's my best friend. She's got the same sense of humor and values as I, so naturally I think she's brilliant.

*Of course there are exceptions -- but this is a general law that tends to hold: *extremely* attractive women tend to cluster at average intelligence, since they don't need to develop any attribute of their mind to get by.

That's nice, but try not to use both the phrases: "There's an inverse realtionship between beauty and intelligence" and "I think you're really smart" when you talk to a woman.

Well, if she understands, she would slap ye in the face
If she doesn't understand... you wouldn't want her because she's too stupid

in any case, you will not have any success, so i reckon it's a bad tactic

LOL. I don't make the rules of human nature, folks. Take your complaints to the Designer, not the Reporter...

Let me put it another way. Intelligence is a form of overcompensation used by people who otherwise don't command the instant respect and attention that attractiveness often inspires.

This is of course a repugnant idea now that we live within a cult of intelligence, where it is assumed to be a positive characteristic. But when viewed appropriately, it really amounts to nothing more than a defense mechanism, and thus relating to someone that they are of average intelligence is a general, positive commentary on their true value as people.

                    Like that better? ;-)

The smarter the better. That is, until they start kicking my arse in Trivial Pursuit.
That about sums it up. Smart, but not smarter than me

Intelligent, humourous, talkative, and mostly outgoing.

I wouldn't mind her being more knowledgeable in her own field of work, though. I don't want to boss her around and I certainly wouldn't like to be bossed around myself.

Smart is the second thing I look at in a woman--right after compassion. The smarter the better!
