  • A Challenge... a very easy challenge.

    ftp://ftp.torpedosoftware.com/usapuzz.exe

Inspired by Trajanus' thread about retarded people taking a National Geographic test I want to see how everyone does on this program intended for American school children. Naturally American posters will be at a significant advantage because the task is to slot all the states into a big grey map and for that reason I propose all American posters be required to get outrageously drunk before attempting it. It's only fair.

The idea is just to post your first score rather than your score after you get acclimatised. The controls are simple; you move the state outlines with your mouse and rotate them with your left and right keyboard arrow keys. I'd wager it will work on anyone's system as it isn't what you might call a high-spec program though it is worth noting it's fairly sensitive about just where you place the states. If you dump Nevada roughly where you think California is going to end don't expect it to necessarily accept that.

Finally... don't cheat/lie etc. It's only a bit of fun.

You want people to trust you, and run/download an .exe file ?

I just scanned it with Norton Antivirus 2003 and didn't find anything wrong with it.

        Now I will try it...

WHAT A CRAPPY PIECE OF SOFTWARE!!!

I seriously hope no one is considering inflicting this on little children! I know my state locations and I know a lot of their capitals, but trying to place them in their proper positions is nearly impossible in this program. Little kids are going to be crushed when this FAILS them state after state after state...

In any case I could easily put all the states together. The only place I struggle is NH and Vermont. I always get those two switched around. But the rest of the U.S. is easy. I have driven through most of them so it's easy to remember.

The download seems to stall when I get to 4%, for some reason.
