It realy is annoying that the thin rejection letter does not give one a breakdown of how one did in each part...

Well, good work Boshko: I have heard that the second part of the progress is a mix of interview and one of these work seminars were you do group porjects and team building excersises.

Also watch out for the CIA background check: if they find any hintof any use of any drugs other than alcohol or tobacco, they give you a negative and a three year ban on security checks at least (I had a friend in the porcess of getting into the CIA as a cartographer, but he made the 'mistake' of admitting that he ahd tried pot, since they try to intimidate you into fessing up)

By the way, which area did you pick, pol, econ, admin, relations, what?

Did Consular. Process of elimination:
-Political: too hard to get into
-Economic: would hate it
-Public Relations: I'm not willing to sell out THAT much
-Administrative: Boshko as an administrator would be a very frightening thing to witness.

Consular seems good, hopefully the kind of job I'd be good at and I'm really looking forward to being able to go overseas again.

I'm sooooo happy I decided to stick around at wes for another say if I didn't get this it'd be too late by the time I got back from break...

The other ones are far too simply, and my pride refuses to admit that I could have done badly on those, givem the scope and difficulty of the questions: I am really missing much experience of working in groups and teams, so I think my deficiency of experience in those fields did it. Interestingly , I heard from another individual that they don't grade your written essay unless you pass the scantron exam.

Let us all know how it goes. I'm actually debating between going to grad school or going into the foreign service after I get back from Japan, so I'll certainly be interested in hearing the truth about the job.

BTW, how hard is it to get into the political track? That's what I'm thinking about applying for, so I'd appreciate any info. I might need to start studying right now...

Well if my student visa gets turned down, I need someone to help me with waiver, mostly putting their names under 'this guy is ok, he's not a terrorist, let him study'. Now I have diplomatic, perhaps a politician signing.. man if it doesn't work even then.. well it would suck.
