Have you noted that there aren't many people who are often referred to only by their first name but seemingly never by only their last name?

In fact, there are Saddam Hussein, Jiang Zemin and... Yoko Ono.

You dope, Jiang is the family name. That's why it is a dumb idea to refer to the surname as "last name," because it does not always go last.

I think you could excuse him on this. The Western media is hardly consistent on the ordering of Asian names. They switch from personal-family to family-personal all the time, seemingly at random. With no experience in Asian family names, it can be next to impossible to tell which is which.

BTW, I have a question about Go for you on the Other Games forum.

There's nothing particularly wrong with Yoko, the Beatles sorely needed breaking up anyway and she is okay as a rtist/artistic influence. I quite like some of her music, which is mroe than can be said for the majority of Lennon/McCartney solo efforts...

You mean that awful stuff with shadow puppets where the puppetmasters utter ungodly dysphonic gutteral sounds that are supposedly dialogue in the background? Isn't that where Yoko Ono got her start?

I hope this isn't taken as an ethnic slur on the Japanese and their language. I generally like Japanese music and some traditional Japanese singing.

                      Javanese

I could have sworn the shadow puppet thing was Javanese, not Japanese.

Fermented soy beans with raw egg is EVEN worse than Ono's art, writing or singing. You have it at breakfast.

After that, the day can only improve.

Linda McCartney-Eastman's singing was just as off-key, only it was heavily disguised/masked by the rest of Wings and the miracles of the studio and mixing desk.

Hmm, if you mean kabuki, that's not really Japanese opera. There really is no such thing as traditional Japanese opera.
