Probably a form letter. People write public officials/personalities all the time by the thousands. One of his assistants would likely read it and respond.

Thats what im afriad of....I wanna ask HIM a question, not some representative who gives me a canned answer.......

If I cared about the "official" opinion of some paid secretary I would ask him, not Gore heh.

But it's simply not feasible for him to answer every letter personally. I'd guess that if your question was truly unique/interesting and provocative it might prompt his mail reader to hand it over for personal attention, though.

Of course. Just make sure the envelope also contains one of Tipper's fingers.

I worked at the Senate back in the days of goose quills and powdered wigs..okay, not quite that long ago...and I can tell you that unless you know Al personally, it's not likely you'll get a response directly from him.

You'll almost certainly get an answer, though, unless your letter is abusive...unless it's really abusive, in which case you'll probably get a response from John Ashcroft, the Secret Service, or some other interested party.

I would like to thank you once again for your support in the [ ] 1956 [ ] 1984 [X] 2000 election, and hope for your continued support in the 2004^H^H^H^H 2008 election. And, as always, Mr Gore appretiates your letters.

Its not abusive, infact it is very flattering(Im a big Gore fan). The most important political issue for me is the enviroment-and he is the only candiate who cared about the enviroment who had a chance at winning in 2004.....want to ask him who I should throw my support for.

Well, he'll probably say who he supports before the democratic primary (unless he decies it's better if he doesn't try to take sides), or you could pay attention to the various enviromental groups and see who they endorse.

Of course you get a reply.

Originally by Al Gore (no, you idiots, he's not a Polytubby!
                          Peasant,

I thank you for your inquiries concerning my recent decision to not be a sacrificial lamb aspire to run in 2004 election. YOU ASKED ME ABOUT 2004 ELECTION SHUT UP SHUT UP I KNOW YOU REALLY DID MEAN TO! I simply decide that it is not opportunate for me to quest for presidency in such inopportunate time, and instead am planning to skip an election and run in 2008, emulating Richard Nixon, my father figure pet monkey. I honestly can tell you that the large bribe I received from Bush administration did nothing to affect my decision as concerning to my presidential aspirations, especially since the larger bribe from Democratic National Committee obviously won out. It is my aspiration to continue the caring, sharing policies of Clinton administration without interns, and aspire to set out a Democratic message for 21st century without blowjobs, except marital blowjobs, except in Texas.

                          Love in a hot tub,

I hear AL Gore has huge sweet tooth, so covering your letter with sugar should get his attention.
