many of these movies I have not seen.
I haven't seen deliverance. I do want to see this film- don't ask me why .
Apocalypse now- obvious choice. I voted for it.
Close Encounters of the Thrid kind. Even as a kid I was intrigued by this movie despite the slow pace. Although I was young and could never stay up to 11 PM. It was years before I actually seen the ending
The Deer Hunter. I was young when I seen this. It seemed too slow. I need to rewatch it. I didn't vote for it.
The godfather. even as a kid I love the first two movies. easy vote
Jaws. You gotta admit this was a classic. Sure they got some shark facts wrong. But still a good flick
Mash. I didn't vote for it. the movie is slow. But it does have its good points. But boy the lyrics to that song are a downer . No big suprise they took the lyrics out for the mash tv series theme song.
Rocky. I can't remember if I voted for this one. Great flick. Classic
Saturday Night fever. blech!!
Taxi Driver. I still haven't seen this film all the way through. It does look good though.
Star Wars. obvious choice. It's good despite mediocre acting and story.

"The Electric Horseman" with Robert Redford and Jane Fonda. Redford plays a ex rodeo champion who kidnaps a famous race horse because its owners are mistreating it. It is a very cool movie IMO.'There is a greater darkness than the one we fight. It is the darkness of the soul that has lost its way. The war we fight is not against powers and principalities, it is against chaos and despair. Greater than the death of flesh is the death of hope, the death of dreams. Against this peril we can never surrender. The future is all around us, waiting, in moments of transition, to be born in moments of revelation. No one knows the shape of that future or where it will take us. We know only that it is always born in pain.'"
G'Kar - from Babylon 5 episode "Z'ha'dum"

In fact Paul Newman, Steve McQueen and Robert Redford movies don't seem to feature in the list even though these guys were the biggest box office stars of the period.
Same with Faye Dunaway, Barbara Streisand and Meryl StreepAny views I may express here are personal and certainly do not in any way reflect the views of my employer. Tis the rising of the moon..

Don't forget the "Airport" series of airline disaster movies!
Chinatown was magnificent -- I don't know why it isn't getting more votes. How did the last line go?
"Let it go, Jake, it's Chinatown"
Anyway, Jack's in his prime in these movies.
Rocky was also good, but it's so hard to detach it from what came later not many bother to try.No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.
