Yup, count me in. Is Bristol the preferred option then?

Yeah, I'm up for it! Does Iain and Johan wish to share the cost of driving down there with me?

        Depends on who you ask.

Unless there are any major objections or better options.

Yeah, I reckon Bristol is a good one, we should be able to get some of the residents in Wales down to it as well. Stew, get your act sorted out

I have a sofa (for short people) and floor space for anyone who needs to stop over.

I have a double bed, but you would have to be strictly young, female and absolutely gagging for it to have a chance with that option.

I'm only short. But I will probably drive it. I remember how much that train fare between Reading and Bristol cost

Two outta three aint bad, surely?

Seriously though it would be helpful if I could stay somewhere, if that'd be possible

The detail you lack is the most important, sadly...

However, you're more than welcome to stay in any other room you so choose. The kitchen is not necessarily recommended, depending on how long the chicken has been in the fridge...

I just checked "the train line" to see what you meant. Can someone please explain the differences between:

                      SUPERSAVER RETURN £33
                      SAVER RETURN £41
                      STANDARD OPEN RETURN £82
                      SAVER FIRST RETURN £99
                      FIRST OPEN RETURN £134

All return journeys; London to Bristol.

Well, if you're in Europe, £33 will get you from Berlin to Budapest. £41 will allow for a couple of day trips to Lake Balaton once you're there.

£82 will probably get you as far as Istanbul (keep some dollars or Euros handy to get a visa). £134 will get you to Calais several times over. Once you cross the channel, you might want to keep a close eye on your credit limit...

                          That didn't really help.

Well, they're privatising Deutsche Bahn, so the TERRIBLE prices and services we've got used to from them can only improve....

Wouldn't Birmingham be a more equitable option..stopping the northerners (Rich and Iain and perhaps Snapcase) from travelling too far, and enable my good self to make it.

Bristol is on the corner of our isle isn't it, Birmingham ain't too difficult to get too for anyone.

                              Just a suggestion!

Nice idea Stew, but one slight flaw in your plan:

                                Birmingham is a grotty sh*thole
