The Congress text seems to be a progress but diplomatic failure is relative. What is rumoured about Bush's draft resolution, it sounds a lot like something our old Kaiser sent to the Serbs in 1914....

The easy part: Line out a workable inspection regime.
The tricky part: Authorize use of force ? I don't trust Bush one inch on that. Threaten a SC resolution that will authorize use of force ? Credibility problem.
Guess Blair is the joker in this game. If the use of force is tied to at least two permanent SC members (guess who) this might be a way around. Not that I trust Blair for being a nice guy, but with the mood of the british public and in his own party being seen as warmongering would get his ass fried.Comment
