Slowhand, perhaps if the direct warnings had been taken seriously, then the FBI have taken the various agents warnings about strange stuff going on more seriously, looked into it, and nipped at least some of it in the bud. Maybe not. I'm not inclined to give Bush the benefit of the doubt anymore.

For all of the conspiracy bull**** you have cooked up here, you overlook the most damning indictment of our government. One that does not entail evil greedy oil or drugs or conservative plots to subvert all that is good and wholesome in the world.

We had four airplanes hijacked at the same time. Four. There is no excuse for it and our government failed us.

I've finally skimmed the thing. Most of it looks irrelevent to the issue you seem to be trying to prove. Only the 5 paragraphs you quoted seem to stand out at all.

I don't buy the theory that the government let this happen inorder to get a pipeline in Afganistan or to increase the police state. I think the government f*cked up. I've said that repeatedly. I post the whole thin in the interest of full disclosure, so you can take the shocking with the conspiratorial.

Second, just because something is a conspiracy doesn't mean it didn't happen. After all, al-Qaeda's attacks on the US were part of a conspiracy by reactionary Islamists against the US. D*ck Nixon engaged in a conspiracy (several actually) at the highest levels of government. Watergate was a conspiracy theory too, at one point. Just because someone posits a conspiracy behind something doesn't mean they're a nut-job. And just because conspiarcies exist doesn't mean every theory is therefore valid.

However, when you put all of the various information together in one place, a troubling picture does appear. And that picture is of a government that was asleep at the helm while friends were screaming at it to wake up. Since the Bush administration is blocking all investigations into the matter, how can we know? They keep secrets, and government secrets are antithetical to democracy.

Those are the ones that really stuck out. Most of the rest of the stuff is conspiracy stuff or the failure of intelligence.

Its amusing that the same people who generally accuse the intelligence community of being morons (no name no pack drill) are the same people who figure that there is some kind of master-minded conspiracy.

Lets ask this question, without a specifically named target, but knowing that hijacked planes were going to be used as weapons what should the US government have done? Close all airports, refuse to allow aircraft into the USA, screen suspects (ie moslem males 15-45 yrs old)! Its not hard to imagine the chaos that would insue. 1 year after the attack, the airport security (although better) is still a joke to even a mildly determined operative and the public are already complaining about luggage searches.
