Thanks for the backup, Ming I love the 'everyone does it' argument being used to justify something...
      (/sarcasm)
"Love the earth and sun and animals, despise riches, give alms to every one that asks, stand up for the stupid and crazy, devote your income and labor to others, hate tyrants, argue not concerning God, have patience and indulgence toward the people, take off your hat to nothing known or unknown . . . reexamine all you have been told at school or church or in any book, dismiss whatever insults your own soul, and your very flesh shall be a great poem and have the richest fluency" - Walt Whitman

What nation doesn't act in it's own perceived interests in foreign policy?
How does that justify aggression and murder? It certainly wouldn't work as a defense if I used it in a murder trial - "I was acting in my own self interest". Please

Exactly, so why do some people get upset in the past, when myself, and ohters have pointed out how the United States propped dictatorships in Latin American countries?

Hey we are moving off topic here....

to (try and) focus the discussion on two particular quotes from Mandela

If you look at those matters, you will come to the conclusion that the attitude of the United States of America is a threat to world peace. Because what [America] is saying is that if you are afraid of a veto in the Security Council, you can go outside and take action and violate the sovereignty of other countries. That is the message they are sending to the world.

            and
But it is the men who around him who are dinosaurs, who do not want him to belong to the modern age. The only man, the only person who wants to help Bush move to the modern era is Gen. Colin Powell, the secretary of State

            - the dinos are Rumsfeld and Cheney - if any clarification is needed...

please feel free to disscuss (as I have to go now... shortly hopefully)
Socrates: "Good is That at which all things aim, If one knows what the good is, one will always do what is good." Brian: "Romanes eunt domus"
GW 2013: "and juistin bieber is gay with me and we have 10 kids we live in u.s.a in the white house with obama"

And I'd be just as quick to condemn it if the British government did something like it. In fact I do quite a lot - mostly in Politics lessons I'm such a stupid idealist, i guess.

And I've jumped on Bad American Policy before as well.

It's just that the way most anti american stuff is posted, you would think that NO other country has ever done anything wrong before

I'm sorry but you'll have to be more specific with your questions if you want an answer.
