Christ, I think I know my own heritage, thank you very much.
Obviously not, if you think Scotland is not part of Britain.

If the Scots are not British, then no-one is - because by your defintion the English are not British, neither are the Welsh.

    F*cking semantics

The words "English" and "British" are very different, and its not just a semantic distinction.

Though you know your way around London you are most likely to retire to the West Coast of the USA.

SD, if you read the second half of that post, you'd know there was confusion about which name refered to which group, not which groups are there.

The comment 'bout Scotch vs. Scottish: being sarcastic. I know it's a no no, thank you. I've gotten it from time to time myself, along with Copper-Top, Carrot-Top, Lucky, and Marmalade Joe (Grrr...).

Ok, I wasn't trying to be difficult, but I have a pet peeve about people interchanging British with English. If its just a misunderstanding, then I'm glad its settled.

Thank you for understanding what I meant, not what I said SD. : rolleyes: I hate the thought of getting into an arguement online, so I'm grateful this has been cleared up.

No hard feelings SD (ie Truce)...?

With only text to work from, one can only work from what is said.

Of course no hard feelings, by normal internet forum standards I thought it was an amicable discussion.

A little late in the exchange (has already been cleared up), but thanks all the same MikeH.

                            I always thought
(Great) Britain = England +Scotland + Wales (Great Britain being opposed to Brittany/Bretagne which is part of France). England != Scotland != Wales != England.
UK = United Kingdom(?)s of Great Britain and Northern Ireland = England +Scotland + Wales + Northern Ireland.
Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Why doing it the easy way if it is possible to do it complicated?
