My problem with Utah is the racist, ultra-evangelical religion which calls it home. The Mormon faith teaches that Black people are black because they are the decendents of Ham or Shem or whomever it was that saw Noah naked and got cursed for it. Being turned black was the curse. Dennis Rodman was right.
Christianity: The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree...

I don't agree with any religions "zealot", Mormons are one of 'em. That's my reason for not liking Utah....that, and they're the host of BYU....just check my sig.

              Anyone ultra-religious scares me.
Anyone who lets other people do the majority of thinking for them scares me.

The've got all the self-righteousness of "proper" Yankees*, and none of the toughness or ingenuity. They live in the middle of a facking desert. They have no real industry to speak of. Their state's boundaries are all straight lines. Not all people from Utah are like that, but the majority that I saw were. I have friends there, but I'm never going back. Texas, on the other hand, is none of those things. Other than self-righteous, but we back it up with our strong military presence!

                  i got two mormon friends

one is very devout, the other isnt

                  and neither push their beliefs
actually, they keep their beliefs very private when they arent with other mormons.

I don't dislike Utah, I just laugh at it because of its ultra-conservative history.

As for Mormons, there is a pretty fair concentration of them where I live. I don't think that most of them are too devout, as I don't get many conversion attempts. Those who have tried have reached an understanding that if they don't push me, I won't heckle them.

By the way, does anyone find it ironic that a significant number of Las Vegas backers were and are Mormon?

Yes you can buy hooch there. There are no bars though, they're CLUBS
You have to buy a membership to drink in them. When we were there we had to buy guest memberships so we could drink for those couple of days. The clubs are great because there aren't really many morons in them.

Some GREAT golf courses up in the hills.

And in general, I agree with those that have previously said, most of the mormons I know are nice. But their need to try to convert you is a bit annoying.

                            Did You Know:

The founder of BYU's motto was "I don't care how you bring them, just bring them young!".
The ways of Man are passing strange, he buys his freedom and he counts his change.
Then he lets the wind his days arrange and he calls the tide his master.

Try reading the history of the "Church". How many "Wives" did he have and what were there ages?
