what they have to do is nationalize women as a commodity and equally distribute them to all the male workers of the country.

      that would work.

Pardon the vulgarity, but pulling out for the gravy shot is hardly likely to increase pregnancy rates

"gravey shot" = "money shot" i.e, come shot?

that would make sense. i'll be assuming that until corrected.

                    Anyway, on-topic ( jeez! on-topic! )...

interesting idea to use porn for a higher birthrate. I agree with Oerdin's original comment and add that I don't get the clue how porn would increase pregnancies in a such large scale the politician seems to expect. Doh, just some rumblings.

                      People are agreeing with me?

There is another good question which Time Magazine asks in its most recent issue. The American birth rate has been increasing steadly since it hit an all time low in the late 1970's while Europe's has continued, more or less, downward. Why the reason for this divergence?

Wow, the Swedes seem to be going out of their way to confirm out stereotypes about them.

My guess would be that the US has more religions that allow and cause larger families and thus higher birthrates. The Mormons are a marginal group, but the Mexicans and Catholics (or even more, Catholic Mexicans) are another story. Europe, on the other hand, is mostly Protestant, excluding Italy, Spanish, Portugal and other possible smaller countries, and I think Catholism isn't practiced that fanatically as it is in the States.

                              Kassi,

all religions seem to get a certain radical flavour in the wonderland of USA.
