In 1991 the U.S. Army engauged the Iraqis in the largest Tank battle since WW2. The end result was the Iraqis lost something like 300 tanks while the U.S. didn't lose a single one.

Yeah, their tanks weren't fast enough to reach many of the french before they gave up.

And let us not forget their incredible showing during operation torh, although in that case it could be said they wanted the US to win. But secretly, they just wanted to surrender.

Oerdin, Aagh you know what I mean! And I didn't mean that it would be necessarily a bad thing.

Panag, French have the most modern technology in Europe? I don't know.. could be. But it's not the same thing as best . They propably have the best technology in digging deep bunkers too, and the most flashy 'surrender' button.

The French used outated tactics and were in no way prepared for the Germans style of warfare. It's not the French Army really sucked, so much as Germany just possessed a superior idea of how to wage warfare and had the tools to carry that out, to the eventual embarrasment of the French Army and BEF.

Now, would all of you who oppose attacking France change your tune if you could have as many French women as you could support as concubines? The guys in the army get first choice.

Yeah, well, when was the Last time the French conducted a well run war?
Napoleon doesn't count, he was Corsican.

The surrenders are always well organized.

Or do you mean the last time they won a war by themselves?

Hell, they didn't even fight WW1 well. The BEF saved their asses.

The only war we lose was Vietnam and we stuck that out for 12 odd years.

Oh, right, I forgot it was paiktis that made the claim. Nevermind .
You can also add the Mexican-American war (1846-1848) where the U.S. kicked the living sh*t out of Mexico and seized half of its territory. The Spanish-American War (1898) where the U.S. single handedly siezed all of Spain's over seas possessions and sunk two Spainish fleets in six months. We were also in WW1 late but U.S. man power and material proved decisive in the allied victory.

That doesn't count more then three dozen invasions and "interventions" in Latin America, mini wars like the 1804 invasion of Libya, or various neo-colonial involvements in places like China, several pacific islands (including hawaii), and what not.

Also Eisenhower first sent U.S. advisers to Vietnam in 1958 and the last U.S. combat troops left in 1974; That would be 16 years the U.S. stuck it out. South Vietnam fell in 1976 two years after the U.S. left. Also the U.S. won every single battle it ever fought against the North Vietnamese Army.

You've obviously never been to France, or you would realize what a weak draw the women would be. If my experience is any indication, there are probably only about 200 good looking women in France, and they would all be pretty famous and reserved for the president, some of the cabinet officers, some of the more important members of congress and of course the supreme court. Any stragglers would be snapped up by officers very quickly, which would leave the common soldier very slim pickings indeed. Better to dodge the draft and take a crack at all those lonely American women.
