I'm not saying it should be illegal. And I certainly can't claim I haven't looked at it in the past. But I sure feel guilty for doing so. If I feel guilty it must be bad right? .

But seriously can anyone claim that pornograhpy is not demeaning to women?

Almost all porn is demeaning by definition.

I wouldn't flog yourself too much for looking at it though - its a natural curiosity/urge.

But porn is desensitising and dehumanising so I think it has bad effects on you and too much of a bad thing is even worse, there's a cumulative effect.

Otoh erotica is not bad in my book - this is art which celebrates human sexuality. Its a much bigger turn on anyway and can be extremely sexy.

Pornography is not demeaning to anyone. The men, often times, are put in demeaning positions as well. If you think pornography is wrong, fine, but don't try to legislate your morality.

How can porn be demeaning to men? Hint: Men still control the power structure in nearly every country in the world. So even men in S&M situations really aren't being demeaned.

Many of the porn companies are run by mom and pop operations, especially the internet ones. And they are mostly run by women. Women also get paid about tens times the amount the men get paid. Porn, like any other form of adult entertainment is just that, entertainment. It isn't demeaning to women.

Making porn is a decision a woman makes, so if she enjoys doing it (and I'm pretty sure she does )
who am I to say no? After all women into porn business are just enjoying having sex just as men do. The only difference is that they can have multiple orgasms.

err maybe we have seen different porn. nude pictures aren't porn imho. But I have seen some pretty demeaning stuff. We're not talking your basic hardcore. much more extreme than that. The women definately weren't enjoying it (you can see it on their faces). They were only doing it for the money.
