That's when you need to bust out a copy of Who Framed Roger Rabbit, or maybe Kentucky Fried Movie. And a six-pack. And three people to trounce at Spades or Euchre. (Works for me, at any rate.)

I would say "Adagio for Strings" by Barber, but I can't figure out if I feel sad or ecstatic after listening to it. It is a sad song without sadness, like a funeral without any grieving (or someting like that ).

Otherwise, it is a tie between three different songs (played in this order):

"Alone Again (Naturally)" by Gilbert O'Sullivan
"Prisoners of Fate" by Yasunori Mitsuda (from Chrono Cross Sdtk.)
"Fire & Rain" by James Taylor

Listening to these songs one after another is a great way to put myself down...
"The self is a relation that relates itself to itself, or is the relation's relating itself to itself in the relation; the self is not the relation but is the relation relating itself to itself." -Kierkegaard, at one of his less lucid moments

Tremolando shows rage! Sforzando shows excitement! C Minor means gravity!–D Minor means terror!...Round and round like donkeys at a grindstone! -Amadeus

Gilbert O'Sullivan wrote a song called "Clare". The Clare he wrote the song about is a friend of mine.

Hey, you're slapping the guy who has watched Titanic five times. Twice in the theater, and three times on video over a period of three years.

So I really like that song, and it strikes a chord with my feelings at the right time; you can kiss my pretty ass, Boris and Ramo.

5 times? That's 15 hours of your life you will never get back.

The only thing depressing about that song is that it was written and actually won an Oscar... bleargh!

Fun always fast-forwards the first 2 hours and heads straight for the "Leonardo in wet shirt" hour at the end.

Yuck -- Leo is a skinny little twink; nothing like the type of guys that I go for.
I go for beefy, fit men.

Lyin' Eyes (The Eagles) and Adam's Song (Blink 182).

I heard that song before. It sounded a lot like Alone Again, only a lot more cheerful.

I'm surprised that no one has yet mentioned "Gloomy Sunday." That's the quintessential suicide theme.

I think litsening to depressive music is sick. It's like deriving entertainment from watching people die from tubercolosis or something, revelling in and deriving pleasure from another person's fatal disease.

Now, slightly melancholic and manically self-destructive songs I'm well up on. Happy, decadent songs with slight melancholic undertones along the lines of The Paragons' "On The Beach" are among my favourite types of songs...
