Gee the US didn't support the ICC in it's current form. What's wrong with the US making agreement that could hinder it. Don't countries have the choice of weighing the +s and -s and deciding for themselves.
OR is it really.....if we don't agree with you, we're automatically evil.

Isn't that what you accuse the US of all the time?

Yes this is the deal, however Serbian response reported by reuters is not what says in Croatian papers .. go figure???

Anyway as Kostunica undeniably said that (perhaps someone else quoted the "croatian version") it is good that Yugoslavs will still cooperate.

But you can see the double standards bill and how the Serbs feel from this article as well.

I don't know if US offered Belgrade a hand too... but it surely did offer us one.

And Serbian anti-US sentiment is anyway so strong that it is true whatever US offers is not really likely to be taken positivley by anyone there.

Unlike in Croatia we are obviously pro-US, but this will surely make our leaders think twice of the position they are now in.

However I surely do not think it is blowing out of proportion. It will be interesting to see what will be the impact on this on further arrests by the ICC on the Balkans. If there will be no impact - that will only mean that EU has really got a grip around us there politically, and that US does not mean nearly as much as one would like to think, beacuse there are significant parts of the population that support the opinion that US with this twist now endorses.

And if nothing happens - well that is a big plus for ICC and EU, but this was a clear US stab at EU. Just depends how the nations will respond politically, and in Croatia it is surely volatile. (probably general anti-US sentiment gives Serbia more stability in that respect).

            Take your hysterical ranting elsewhere.
For some reason I got an impression:

do not put our citizens to ICC and we will not put yours kind of deal.

Simple solution: Let's take our soldiers out of peacekeeping missions. That way, foreign governments can't accuse our soldiers of war crimes. Let the Euros and the Japanese take care of them. No one seems to ever be grateful for U.S. intervention anyway. I wouldn't waste one more dollar on these missions.

                Of course not.

It is going around saying : You have to send all the ones ICC asks for to Hague or else for years.

And now coming around and saying: Sign this treaty with us, do not send our citizens there, and we will not send yours. In fact we will help you to get the ones who are there already, so you can handle them in your courts. And ICC says - no way you will get your people out, and you will not want to sign this if planning to become an EU member soon.

And if this is not a twist than (plus the posible political implications in our country, but surely US wouldn't mind as the other political option would use it as an excuse, which would play straight on US hand)

It is not agreeing with US, it is that US has a lot of influence, and that is uses it to its interests as it pleases, even though they are saying that they consider you "as a country" and stability there -stability yes, but on US terms.

edit: I've got to go now

I can not find anything about a deal with Croatia. I'm starting to think that Croatia's newspapers are as credible as those in Ethiopia.

Well whatever masters say. At the end of the day it was always like that.

Even though that EU masters have some more credible policy to adhere to. (and by the pure geographical chance, not by choice of course) we will have to adhere to EU masters choice, I'd say as EU has much more influence in our part now. But such is life.

It really streches the imagination to think people would just groundlessly post anti-US threads, only to be exsposed as being untrue time after time.

Why would anybody want to do that?
