  • What's the dillio with "extra signatures"?

Signatures are all well and good. They've got a decent maximum length and a small font, so they don't really clutter up a thread too much. Plus, you've always got the option to turn them off.

My question is regarding "extra" signatures. F'rinstance, let's say that after every post of mine I always said something like "-tooting my own horn since 1999, I am, respectfully yours, loinburger." Kind of a full-sized signature that can't be ignored. What are your reactions to these things?

I'd imagine that somebody likes them, I'm just wondering who.

Wraith's are good. Rah's are sometimes good. I never noticed yours before. Some are just...

Hmm, I'd forgotten about Wraith's and Rah's (which are sometimes good, I agree). I was more thinking of the kind that never changes, the idea being that "real" signatures don't change with every post, so "extra" signatures also don't change with every post.

Oh, they suck. Put them in your actual signature. *cough*panag*cough*

Wraith has good ones, and what I can tell he's been adding them for a while now. And they are always different and fitting for the situation/thread. He must have a huge stockpile of them... I wonder if he's ever used one quote twice?

                Thanks.

I write my name at the bottom of e-mails but not at the bottom of forum posts. They somehow feel different to me.

I'm pretty sure I saw it happen once. Two different threads had gone in the same direction, IIRC.

Edit: Forgot my extra signature! This business is more difficult than it first appears!

If it is the same thing every single time it is just annoying.
