1997 Honda Civic EX Coupe, with 55k miles on it, and a few engine mods to give it about 15 extra horses (low estimate). A couple other custom details to make it look nice.

verrrrrry purty
when i do buy my first car, i'm going to get one of those cheapo asian cars so my insurance can be lower.
'course, since i live in a spectacular city with one of the best mass transit systems (MTA doesn't come close), i won't need to buy a car until i go to grad school, which might not be in chicago. that's another three-five years.
95 1/2 Honda Passport. (aka Isuzu Rodeo)
Best car I've ever owned. (and the most fun)
All paid off and instead of buying a new car, i'm making monthly payments into my Daughters college investment fund. It's only got 55K miles on it and is good for quite a while more.
And speaking of the earlier debate. I got a good interest rate when I bought my truck in 1996. Just under 4%. So I put down 5,000 less than I was going to and invested it in the stock market. Even with the torching that it took the last year before I got it out, It finished up worth between 20 and 25K. Right about what I paid for the whole truck. Hmmmmm. It would have been real foolish at that time to have paid for it in cash. My investments made my payments so it ended up that I paid only about 5 grand for it.
