US is too freakin uptight to be cool. If the US had legalized weed and prostitution, then maybe we'd be cool. If somebody killed off the puritans, we'd probably have already been cool today. As it, we're getting there, although having a president that came off the set of hehaw doesn't help though.
Nevada has legalized prostitution, though I dont like it because I have dignity. And wy does weed need to be legalized? Practically Everyone I know other than myself has at least tried it and I only know of a handful of them that got busted with a slap on the wrist. So if that is your definition of a cool country (its not mine, personally) then America is somewhat cool.
I personally like America because my big brother and I grew up in a trailor park, and now he is almost through Med-school and I may not be too far behind him .
Few other nations have such socio-economic dynamics as America. Your position at birth means **** (except still in those few racist pocets throughout the counry. Wont they grow up? ). Our country is based on merit and hard work, and thats why its cool. Anybody can make it here, mainly as long as you work hard. The competition in our nation to 'make it' is what drives us continually upward in almost everything. Everybody wants to be the best so everybody tries to be the best.

For those who aspire to live in a high cost, high tax, big government place, our nation and the world offers plenty of options. Vermont, Canada and Venezuela all offer you the opportunity to live in the socialist, big government paradise you long for. –Senator Rubio

Both she and arnold are American citizens, are they not? I am Italian/Polish/English/Irish/scotch/Spanish/German, but I am an American. As is every American foreign (yes, even Native Americans did not evolve here), but I am sure I dont need to be saying this well known definition of America.
