    Looks like you're right, Stefu.

    • this painful ritual as an infant makes the majority of uncut men whiny little panty-waists, as seems to be the case at Apolyton, anyways.

*stammering*. . uh, but, hey!. . .err, um. . . ahh, **** it.

How about calling it "Should I circumcise my daughter?"

        • CUT IT!!!!

Why? I have seen a few, ahem, adult movies in my time, and I've never seen an uncircumcised penis in one.

You could be ruining his calling in life!!!!!!!

Don't try to confuse the issue with half-truths and gorilla dust!

          • In a court of law the opinion of recognized experts is NOT irrelevant. If the consensus of opinion in the medical profession is that male circumcision is not medically justified, then that is the standard that is applied

How does the consensus of whether it is 'medically justified' fit in with whether it is de minimis or not? You seem to be throwing around things in trying to support you wild assertions. ONE guy says it isn't de minimis... the rabbis probably thought he was asking if it was no/minimum pain to the infant, not if the cutting of foreskin is such a minimum wounding to be irrelevant.

            • Ah, I have returned from vacation just in time to prolong your misery.

There are risks and benefits with the procedure. In the first year of life circumcision clearly decreases the risk of urinary tract infections in boys, but on the downside the risk of skin infections and permanent disfigurement ( Do you know how small the penis of a baby is? Did you know that the circumcision will be handled by an obstetric resident who has been up all night?) cancels out the benefit. Circumcision also protects against cancer of the foreskin, a condition which is frankly fairly rare in developed countries.
Circumcision may also convey partial protection against acquiring the HIV virus, but the problem is do you want to sell partial protection against a universally fatal infection? Those who believe in the protective value of the procedure may feel that other protective measures are unnecessary and thereby cancel out the protective effect.

              • Personally I think the main benefit is hygiene. You don't have to clean or worry about the damn thing ever again for the rest of your life.
Any views I may express here are personal and certainly do not in any way reflect the views of my employer. Tis the rising of the moon..

Look, I just don't anymore, okay?

Spoken like a person who has no idea what it's like to have to clean it in the first place.

Seriously though, that's such an incredibly stupid argument I can't tell if you're joking or not.

Gee Horse, that hurts. It really does.

If only I wasn't a pudgey middleaged man, THEN I could get laid.

                              I know he's got 4 kids.
That doesn't mean he's done it more than 4 times. And you know what they say about those married couples as they age.

                              • This may have been pointed out (not read the the whole thread), but I feel it's worth articulating the reaction of the average British gentile male, who's rather unfamiliar with the concept.

OOOOOWWWWWW!!!!!!! ****ing ***!!! I mean, OOOWWWWW!!!!! *****!!! How can you can even think of ****ing your own kid's ****?
